Benefits of foam rolling

Foam rolling is a simple and cost effective way to relieve aches and pains, improve flexibility and mobility, relieve muscular tension, improve posture and reduce recovery time.

Pressure is applied onto the roller through the use of body weight. Using a stroking and rolling movement, specific body parts are moved along the roller and pressure applied along the length of the muscle or tendon increasing the flow of blood and lymph to the body of the muscle.


One of the joys of foam rolling is that it can be done pretty much as often as you like. Try adding foam rolling to your regular workout routines as an alternative warm up or a well-earned 5-10 minute cool down, focussing on each muscle/muscle group for a maximum of 2 minutes. You could also foam roll for general mobility maintenance and injury prevention at any time of day.
